The present invention concerns a procedure for preparing factor VIII or of an analogue of factor VIII by the culture on a culture medium of cells producing the said factor VIII or analogue of factor VIII and separation of factor VIII or of its analogue, characterised in that the culture medium contains at least one derivative of a polycationic and/or polyanionic polymer. It also relates to factor VIII or analogue of factor VIII and to the complex of factor VIII or analogue of factor VIII with a derivative of a polycationic and/or polyanionic polymer obtained by the use of this procedure.
