In the case of a protective moulding and/or trim moulding having a surface resembling metal, in particular for motor vehicles, with a trim moulding supporting part, the surface of which is fully or partially provided with an adhesion promoter system which in turn bears a vaporised metal coating, the vaporised metal coating is deposited on the inner side, facing the supporting part, of a film of a crystal-clear plastic which is resistant to light and the weather. To produce a protective moulding and/or trim moulding according to the invention, a metal coating is vapour-deposited on a film of a crystal-clear plastic which is resistant to light and the weather and the film is attached to the supporting part by means of an adhesion promoter system. |
