Clamping plate for fixing workpieces on machine tool - has clamping elements with holes aligned with holes in clamping plate

A machine tool has a clamping plate (10) for mounting workpieces whilst being machined. The plate (10) has equally spaced longitudinal and transverse grooves (L, Q). Each grooves is undercut on both side walls to produce an inverted T cross-section. Holes (11) are formed at the midpoints between the intersection points of the longitudinal and transverse grooves so that parallel rows of holes (11) are formed with the holes in row (X1) staggered relative to the holes in the adjacent rows (X2). The workpieces are secured by clamping elements. Each clamping element has two sets of holes. The holes of the first set are aligned with the holes (k2) in the rows (X2) whilst the holes of the second set are aligned with the intersection points (K1)(K3). USE - Clamping of workpieces.
