Phase shifts occur at higher frequencies in integrated circuits which include an amplifier for analog signals, e.g. in control circuits. To prevent uncontrolled oscillations thus produced, the phase and amplitude response is altered with the aid of a frequency response compensation capacitor. The value of this capacitor is proportional to the amplification. However, integrated capacitors require a large chip area. Due to the addition of an unregulated control value (76) approximately corresponding to the set value (79), the error amplifier (71) of the control circuit can be operated with lower amplification. The feedback can thus be reduced and in consequence the size needed for the frequency response compensation capacitor and the chip area required therefor can also be reduced.
