An inclined chute (1) is constituted by two parallel rollers (3) extending between upper and lower brackets (9, 11), and sepd. by a narrow gap (5). The rollers (3) are rotated in the same direction so that each workpiece comprising a head (31) and two lead wires (33) slides towards a transfer station (17). Here the wires (33) precede the head (31) through a wider gap (19), which is circular with dia. suited to that of the head, on to an exit conveyor. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for light-emitting diodes. Unwanted abrasion of workpieces is avoided in appts. readily adaptable to differently-dimensioned objects.
