Polymerisable mixts. (I) are claimed, contg. (A) 5-60 wt.% unsatd. cpd(s). of formula (II), (B) 30-65 wt.% vinylaromatic cpd(s). of formula (IIIA, B or C) and/or (meth)acrylate(s) of aromatic OH or alkoxy cpds. of formula (IVA, B or C) and (C) 10-55 wt.% monofunctional satd. or unsatd. cycloaliphatic (meth)acrylate(s) of formula (VA) and/or bifunctional cycloaliphatic (meth)acrylate(s) of formula (VB); R1, R4, R16, R19, R23 = H or 1-4C alkyl; R2, R3 = -(CH2)n-, -CHR5-CHR6- or -CH2-CR7R8-CH2-; R5-R8 = H, 1-5C alkyl, 5-6C cycloalkyl or 7-12C aralkyl; R5 and R6 or R7 and R8 cannot both = H; a, b = 1, 2 or 3; R9-R11 = H or 1-5C alkyl; R12 = H, -(CH2)rOH or -CH2CHMeOH; r = 1-4; (R13 in IVA can also be Ph); m, p, q = 1 or 2; R17, R20, R22 = (CH2)t or -CHR5CHR6-; t = 1-4; R18 = mono-, oligo- or poly-cyclic gp., i.e. cyclohexyl, cyclohexenyl or cyclopentene or cyclopeniadiene adducts, opt. linked oxy)alkylene; through, g, h = 0-3; and R21 = divalent gp. analogous to R18. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are useful for the prodn. of moulded optical prods. (claimed). The polymerised mixts. have a high refractive index combined with a high Abbe no., and are therefore suitable e.g. for th prodn. of corrective lenses for spectacles, camera lenses, optical disc etc.
