The paddle-type sluice has an inflow (2) and outflow (3) shaft in a housing the cylindrical interior of which has a leaking-air outlet near the outward rotating part of the bucket wheel. The angle included by the inflow section and outlet section and the position of the air outlets (10) are such that between the edge (3a) of the outlet sections last covered by the bucket wheel bars (6), and the next edge (10a) of the air outlet there are always two bucket wheel bars at least. Between the edge (2a) of the inlet section first covered by the bucket wheel bars, and the next edge (10b) of the air outlet is always at least one bucket wheel bar. USE/ADVANTAGE - The paddle type sluice is designed to give a good sealing effect.
