PURPOSE: To encode and decode data within a known maximum time by processing a set by a compact processor using a statistical table. CONSTITUTION: Each of compact processors includes m statistical tables(ST). The number of data sets is (q), and (i) is a number of a set, namely, 0, 1,...q-1. A set (i) is processed with statistical tables STjk by compact processor CP. (j) and (k) are determined by formulas I and II. In the case of an N-CP system where each CP has M STs, a possible constitution of DP systems whose number is smaller than N is prescribed by m<=M and n<=N where M, N, (m), and (n) are integers larger than 0 and (n) is the number of CPs used out of a maximum N of the number of CPs in the N-CP system, and (m) is the number of STs used out of a maximum M of the number of STs in each CP. Thus, data is encoded and decoded within the known maximum time. |
