For joining a fibre-reinforced pipe with a metallic coupling element, the coupling element, which has recesses and/or catches distributed circumferentially over its outer lateral surface, is pushed axially onto the prefabricated fibre-reinforced plastic pipe, pipe material being pressed at the same time into the recesses or the catch or catches cutting into the pipe wall. To achieve greater radial pressing forces of the fibre-reinforced pipe/coupling element connection, before it is pushed onto the coupling element, the fibre-reinforced pipe is heated in the connecting region to a temperature above the glass transition temperature of the plastic. |
