Noise and vibration damping system for tram tracks - in which rail foot is supported in trough-shaped moulding and by bar-shaped side supports or polyurethane and scrap rubber

System comprises trough shaped components (3) which support the rail foot (23) via a cast polymeric pad. The rail recesses are filled with bar-shaped components (5,9) which are pre-moulded and bonded in position or cast in-situ. The moulded boar and bar-shaped components are mfd. in a compound comprising 40-52% milled, scrap rubber and a matrix of 25-48% polyurethane with additives. Rail side forces are resisted by metal supports and neoprene spacer blocks. USE/ADVANTAGE - The damping system acts as a noise and vibration reducer for tram tracks and prevents incitement of high frequency noise.
