PURPOSE:To prevent an information read point from jumping out of an information recording part by feeding a step by an initialized step quantity, and feeding the step by decreasing the step quantity until it is decided that it does not exceed the maximum or the minimum address, in case it is decided that said step quantity exceeds the maximum or the minimum address. CONSTITUTION:After reading an information recording start position of a disk, a pickup is brought to step feed by an initialized step quantity in the designated address direction. Whether the present address is a designated address or not is decided, and in case it is decided that it is not the designated address, whether the present address is larger than the designated address or not is decided subsequently. In case it is larger than the designated address, whether the pickup is fed in the forward (FWD) direction or not is decided. In case it is being fed in the FWD direction, the feeding direction is inverted, and also the step quantity feed is executed by reducing the feed quantity. In case it is decided that the pickup is fed in the reverse direction, and also it is decided that it exceeds the minimum address, the step feed is repeated by reducing the feed quantity. In this way, it can be prevented that the information read point jumps out to the outside of the information recording part. |
