<p>PURPOSE:To reduce a load on a thermal line head at the peak of a power source by a method wherein a division control means is connected to the output of a comparator to make the sums of gradation data in respective blocks equal to each other under control. CONSTITUTION:A division control means 2 divides all heating elements of a thermal line head 1 into N blocks under control. A memory 3 stores gradation data for one line in the main scanning direction of the thermal line head 1. An adder 4 generates the sum of the gradation data for one line. A multiplier/ divider 5 generates i/N of the output of the adder 4 (N is a natural number of 2 or more, but 1 <= i <= N-1). An address generation means 6 imparts a read-out address to the memory 3. An adder 7 sequentially adds the gradation data read from the memory 3. A comparator 8 compares the output of the adder 7 with the output of the multiplier/divider 5. In accordance with the output of the comparator 8, the division control means 2 makes the sums of gradation data in the respective blocks equal to each other under control. In this manner, the loads of a power source on the respective blocks at the time of recording are nearly uniformized, and a white stripe caused by a change-over between the blocks can be eliminated.</p> |
