The counter evaluating the CRT by counting the arc discharge generated at the alien material is composed of an arc discharge detector (20) for generating the equivalent voltage of the arc discharge in a heater (10), a comparator (30) for comparing the voltage of the arc discharge detector (20) with a reference voltage (Vref), a 1st counter (50) for counting the signal from the comparator (30), a 1st reset pulse generator (60) for resetting the 1st counter (50), a 2nd reset pulse generator (65) for initializing a 2nd counter (55), and 1st-2nd segment drivers (70) (75) for driving the MSB and LSB segment of a display unit (80).
