PURPOSE:To provide an apparatus for producing a composite structural pipe which can stably and surely support both ends of a base pipe by consisting said device of a rotary metallic flask which supports internally fittedly a cylindrical pipe and generates the centrifugal force field and retaining caps which are fitted internally to said flask and support both ends in the axial direction of the cylindrical pipe, etc. CONSTITUTION:The base pipe 2 is fitted into the metallic flask 1 and the retaining caps 7 are supported at both ends of the pipe 2 in contact therewith. The retaining caps 8 inserted with slide bars 10 in respective slide holes 9 are inserted into the flask 1. The caps 8 are fixed by cotter pins 5 to support elastically the caps 7 via springs 11 to the heads 10a of the bars 10. The thermit agent 4 is loaded through the central holes 7a, 8a of the caps 7, 8 into the pipe 2 as the flask 1 rotates. The thermit agent 4 is fired in the centrifugal force field obtd. by the high-speed rotation of the flask 1 by which the thermit reaction is effected. The metallic layer and ceramic layer are thus formed in the molten state and are gravity-separated, by which the composite structural pipe coated and formed integrally with the desired ceramic layer via the metallic layer on the inside surface of the pipe 2 is thus obtd. |
