Rolling bearing with inner ring axially extended on at least one side and with threaded locking ring and friction element compressible between shaft and inner ring. The inner ring extension is provided with a conical bore at the end, which forms a tapered annular gap with the shaft surface for insertion of a friction element. The friction element is an annular ring of elastically deformable friction material, or a ring of trapezoidal section or a carrier ring with a number of rough-surfaced balls. USE/ADVANTAGE - The claimed invention provides an improved means of locking the inner ring of a rolling bearing to a shaft easily and without bearing deformation.
