The invention relates to a toggle-type lock for connecting a lid (2) and a case (3) to one another, the catch element of the toggle cooperating, for this purpose, with a corresponding receiving structure (4), the toggle being mounted on a plate (8) fixed to the lid or to the case, the receiving structure being mounted on the other element. The toggle (6) is released or locked on the support plate (8) by means of a staple (9) having a displacement parallel to the main plane of the lock, the said staple cooperating, for this purpose, with a locking member which is fixed to the plate and in which it is held in engagement in the closed position by means of springs. <IMAGE>
