PURPOSE:To obtain a thin, uniform and dense stabilized zirconia film by extrusion-molding a specified compsn. consisting of stabilized zirconia powder, an org. binder, a lubricant, a plasticizer and water and sintering the resulting sheet under ordinary pressure. CONSTITUTION:An org. binder, a lubricant and a plasticizer are added to stabilized zirconia powder by >=6 pts.wt., in total, per 100 pts.wt. of the zirconia powder and water is further added by >=15 pts.wt. They are uniformly kneaded and extrusion molded into a sheet with an extrusion molding machine under 20-60kg/cm<2> molding pressure. This molded sheet is then sintered under ordinary pressure to obtain a stabilized zirconia film. By this method, continuous sheet- shaped stabilized zirconia films of large area can be produced in large quantities at a low cost in a short time and the thickness of the films can easily be reduced. |
