The subject of the present invention is a device for storing sound messages on an exchangeable carrier having a non-energized memory, and capable of being connected to a circuit for reproducing the said sounds including an electronic amplifier (13) associated with at least one loudspeaker (14); the said exchangeable carrier is an ultra-flat card (11) containing an electronic circuit furnished with at least one memory (10), in which the information is stashed beforehand in the form of bits arising from an electrical signal (5) which emanates from a sensor (3) of the said sound messages and is then analyzed, digitized, compressed and modified in a microcomputer (8). <IMAGE>
