PURPOSE:To positively detect the waste amount of ink in a simple and cheap structure without providing a lid or the like by sealing an upper surface of a container with a flexible film, forming an opening in the film to guide the ink and a hole in an ink absorbing body to guide the ink from the opening to the bottom surface of the container, and laying an absorbing paper below the ink absorbing body. CONSTITUTION:A waste ink pack 11 except for the upper surface thereof is formed of a plastic container 15 having rigidity. The upper surface of the pack 11 is sealed with a flexible film 18. The change of the volume of a volume expanding body 17 is arranged to be transmitted to an external detecting means through the film. A through-hole 20 for guiding the waste ink is formed in an ink absorbing body 16. Since the waste ink permeates from the lower part of the ink absorbing body 16, the absorbing efficiency of the ink absorbing body 16, etc., can be fully utilized. Moreover, an absorbing paper 24 which absorbs ink with high speeds is laid below the ink absorbing body 16. Therefore, the ink is prevented from staying in drops below the ink absorbing body 16, and can be spread all over the bottom surface of the container with high speeds. Accordingly, the absorbing efficiency of the ink absorbing body 16 is sufficiently effected. |
