By=pass valve for vehicle hydraulic damper - has two stable positions with solenoid switching action
摘要
The damping characteristics of the hydraulic damper are switched between two levels by a valve element (1) which is held in one setting by a spring (7) and in a second setting by a permanent magnet (2). The switching action is driven by a solenoid (3) operating in two directions, i.e. between the two stable valve settings. The permanent magnet exerts a force greater than the spring force when the valve element is brought into contact with the magnet. The solenoid is driven by DC signals to two polarities. A failsafe circuit provides a charge sufficient to set the valve in the harder setting if the solenoid leads are cut. ADVANTAGE - Simple controllable suspension, failsafe design.
