Road-rail transport system - incorporates external movable locking rods along sides of load platform

An externally movable locking rod (7) is provided along each longitudinal side of the wagon load platform (3). During rail transportation the rods (7) are position lockable inside the downwards hanging stilts (6) of an interchangeable body (5) accomodated on the load platform (3). A suspension on the wagon acts as a shock absorber and also as a pneumatic onboard lifting device. The locking rod (7) is actuated by an eccentric or cranked shaft running parallel to the lateral side of the platform. USE/ADVANTAGE - Changeover of the container from lorry to goods wagon is speed up.
