A method of treating a livestock feedstuff comprises coating the feedstuff, especially in the form of pellets, with a composition comprising a fat or oil and a lignosulphonate. Additives such as pigments, vitamins, flavourings and pharmaceuticals may be included in the composition. A composition suitable for use in animal feed is also disclosed, consisting essentially of a fat or oil and a lignosulphonate. The composition is suitably prepared by blending the fat or oil with the lignosulphonate and then heat treating the blend. The tendency of the fat or oil to oxidise is thereby suppressed. |
