<p>A communication system between LANs having different kinds of equipment comprising a backbone LAN (1) connected to a plurality of branch line LANs (7, 7') via nodes (2A, 2B, 2C, 2D). A branch line LAN frame (30) sent out from one of terminals (8, 9, 10, 15, 18, 21) is taken in a backbone LAN frame (40) at the node (2A, 2B, 2C, or 2D) connected to the terminal and gives the address of the node being located adjacently on the downstream side of the node having sent out the frame (30) to the backbone LAN frame (40) accordingly. Then, the backbone LAN frame (40) is transmitted in the backbone LAN (1). At the node whose address coincides with the addresses included in the backbone LAN frame (40), the branch line LAN frame (30) is separated from the backbone LAN frame (40).</p> |
