Steam trap with float valve - has sealed housing for valve which controls outflow of condensate

The steam trap has a body (1) with an inlet (3) and an outlet (4). A sealed housing (2) which is fastened to the side of the body (1) encloses a float valve. The float valve has a cylindrical body (10) connected to the outlet passage (8,4) of the main body. This cylindrical body has an opening (14) which forms a valve seat with the valve head (25) being attached to the lever (20). Any condensate collects in the housing (2) and as the level of this condensate rises the float (15) moves upwards and actuates the lever (20) to open the valve to allow the condensate to flow through the cylindrical body to the outlet (4). A thermostatically controlled steam vent (28) is mounted on the cylindrical body.
