The IC engine has inlet and outler valves, also combustion-chamber scavenging by air delivered from a pump. Valves (3, 4, 5) deliver combustion air and a fuel/air mixture separately, the mixture valve (4) at least being preceded in its inlet branch (9) by a fuel injector (14) with auxiliary air supply (15). The inlet of the positive-displacement-type auxiliary air pump (16) is connected to the outlet of the scavenge air pump, which is also a positive-displacement one. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple and high-efficiency IC engine.
