PURPOSE: To prevent deformation of a wrapper member to enhance the reliability of mounting and enable manufacture at low cost without requiring skilled work by constructing a heat shield from a wrapper member, a heat insulation member, support, and an outer member. CONSTITUTION: A wrapper member 46 has a wrapper portion 48 and a flange 50 extending therefrom and is made from sheet metal. A heat insulation member 72 is made from flexible sheet material making contact with the wrapper portion 48. Support 60 has a long column 62 placed between the wrapper portion 48 and the heat insulation member 72 and a plurality of leg portions 34, 36, 38 extending therefrom. Further, an outer member 74 is pressed by the bent flange 50 and is secured to the wrapper member 46 without adhesives, together with the heat insulation member 72 and the support 60. An intermediate product thus formed is bent into a predetermined shape to complete a heat shield 50 at low cost without requiring skilled work. Also, deformation of the wrapper member 46 is prevented and the reliability of mounting is enhanced by the support 60 having rigidity. |
