A refrigerator has a pressure-relief valve (2) which is adjusted for a given refrigerant. The pressure-relief valve (2) controls the flow rate of a refrigerant from a pressurized container (1) to an evaporator (3). A measuring device (6) which measures the temperature of the suction gas is arranged at the outlet region of the evaporator. The opening position of the pressure-relief valve (2) is adjusted in function of the suction gas temperature and the constant suction gas pressure of the evaporated refrigerant. Instead of the given refrigerant for which the pressure-relief valve (2) is adjusted, a refrigerant with a low evaporation temperature is used. The evaporator has a post-evaporation stage (5) in which the refrigerant actually used is heated to a temperature equal to that which the given refrigerant for which the pressure-relief valve (2) is adjusted would have after it had been evaporated and superheated.
|
