The automatic machine positions a hinge arm and its mating mounting and inserts a hinge pin in them. The system positioning the mounting (14) has slides working between the receiving position from the feed conveyor and the insertion one in a mating mounting open at the end. The second slide (25) moves at 90 deg. to the first (21), the mounting being in the working area of the pin-insertion feed in the second position. A separate conveyor delivers the hinge arm (16) to the mounting. ADVANTAGE - Simplicity, easy access, and fast working.
