Removal of nitrogen oxides from flue gases of combustion plants - by adding ammonia to flue gases produced from ammonium salt-contg. effluent on passing through packed column
摘要
Plant incorporating column-type units where ingredients or heat are exchanged are characterised by uneven distribution. The novelty is that the column is fitted with baffles each formed by meshed basin-shaped fluid distributors whose perforations incorporate a material bearing capillary tubes. USE/ADVANTAGE - The efficiency of the process in the column is maximised. Droplets are reduced in size by the mesh and then reduced further by capillary action across the entire columnar cross section. Droplets cannot move directly along the column. The velocity of gas or vapour along the column does not increase by more than the inlet speed.
