Valve for IC engine - has variable-timing hydraulic control with inner and outer rotatable sleeves

The device incorporates a rotary valve (13) with a driven outer control sleeve (14) and a synchronously driven inner control sleeve (15) installed concentrically with the latter (14). For variable control the rotational angles of both sleeves are adjustable in relation to each other and provide a connection between the working chamber (8) and pump (6) via a shut-off valve (7) to open the engine valve (3). With closing of the engine valve (3), the outer sleeve (14) serves as a connection between the working chamber (8) and a spring accumulator (II), via another shut-off valve (16). USE/ADVANTAGE - Hydraulic control of valve in IC engine is combined with energy recuperation.
