PURPOSE:To improve the appearance of the interior as well as the air- conditioning efficiency and thermal efficiency by providing in the space above a ceiling in a dwelling house an indoor unit of an air conditioner and by forming in said space a chamber for air drawn in and a chamber for air to be discharged each with an air inlet and an air outlet respectively for passage of air from and to the room. CONSTITUTION:Each of indoor units 30 is equipped with a coil, fan, etc., in the same manner as in the case of an ordinary air conditioner. When an outdoor unit 32 and the indoor unit 30 are in operation, air in the room 7 is drawn into a chamber-for-air-drawn-in 10 through inlet 12, mixed to a uniform state therein, and sent into the respective indoor units 30 through openings 8. In each of the indoor units 30 the air undergoes conditioning such as cooling, heating, dehumidification, or humidification as required, and the conditioned air is sent into a chamber-for-air-to-be-discharged 20, where the conditioned air is made to assume a uniform state, for example, by interposition of a baffle plate 22 and discharged through an outlet 21 to the room 7. |
