Composition with gas-barrier properties, comprising: (A) 50 to 99.5 % by weight of a polyolefin resin, (B) 0.4 to 50 % by weight of a saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, and (C) 0.1 to 15 % by weight of a compatibilising agent defined in the description, this composition satisfying the relationship: M2/M1 = not less than 1.5, in which M2 and M1 are the hot melt indices of (B) and (A), respectively, under a load of 2,160 g at 210 DEG C. Use of the composition for the preparation of films which can be employed especially in packaging.
