PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity and to form a uniform latent image by successively executing electrostatic charging, uniform exposure which is executed simultaneously or almost simultaneously with the electrostatic charging, the formation of an electrostatic latent image by dot exposure and the development of the electrostatic latent image to a photosensitive body whose differential coefficient of the light decay curve of surface potential versus the light quantity characteristic shows a maximum value. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body 11 has high gamma type light decay characteristic, that is, the differential coefficient of the light decay curve of the surface potential versus the light quantity characteristic shows a maximum value. Then, the surface of the photosensitive body 11 is uniformly electrostatically charged by a corona electrostatic charger 21 consisting of a scorotron counter electrode, uniformly exposed by a uniform exposure lamp 35 with infrared light simultaneously with the electrostatic charging and irradiated with dotted image exposing light L in accordance with recording data from a laser optical system 26. After the latent image is formed, it is developed by a developing device 15 in which toner is contained. Thus, the sensitivity is improved and the good-quality image is obtained. |
