PURPOSE:To surely inform a paper jam to the operator at a place apart from a device, by detecting the paper jam, using an alarm and alarming the operator with a sound. CONSTITUTION:When the operator presses a copy start button (operating key 5), a control signal is output from a controller 6 to a sound signal generator 7. Then a sound wave signal (Confirmation sound wave signal) is output from the generator 7, and a confirmation sound is generated from an alram 8 by said sound wave signal, simultaneously copying operation is started. That is, copy paper 11 in a stocker 9 or 10 is conveyed, and a light sensitive drum 12 transcribes a picture to this paper. The paper 11 after transcription passes through a fixing device 13 and is discahrged to be outside of a machine. In a conveying process of such paper 11, if a paper jam occurs, output is generated from any of paper jam detectors 1-4, and the alarm 8 generates a sound in accordance with a place where the paper jam occurs. |
