Apparatus for stripping components from a board, comprises a pair of spaced shear jaws (6, 7), a clamp (3, 4) and hydraulic means (1, 2) for moving the clamp (3, 4) relative to the shear jaws (6, 7). In use a board is inserted between the shear jaws (6, 7) and secured by the clamp (3, 4). The clamp (3, 4) is then moved away from the shear jaws (6, 7) so that the board is pulled between the shear jaws (6, 7) and any components mounted thereon sheared off. Alternatively the clamp is stationary and the jaws are moved. The upper jaw 6 is urged towards jaw 7 by springs (18, Fig. 3), clamp 3 is actuated by hydraulic cylinder means (11, Fig 2) and spikes 9 projecting from clamp 3 to grip the board cooperate with through holes 10 in clamp 4. An accessory comprising a hydraulically-driven member (25 Fig 4) running in a guide (26 Fig 5) on a table (21) which has guides (23) and clamps (27) is used to strip one edge portion of the board to aid its insertion between the jaws 6 and 7. <IMAGE> |
