A photographic developer is composed of 50-55 vol.% organic solvent, 16-25 vol.% main component of formula (I), 8-12 vol.% hydroxylamine sulfate and 45-60 vol.% alkali agent. The organic solvent is composed of 30-40 wt. pts. benzylalcohol, 10-13 wt. pts. triethanolamine, 40-47 wt. pts. diethyleneglycol, 2-5 blank-phor and 6-8 wt. pts. EDTA-3k.
