PURPOSE:To prevent a distance from being mismeasured by preventing the ratio of a distance measurement range to a printing range from increasing when pseudo zoom photography is performed. CONSTITUTION:A graph in a figure shows the relation between the ratio of the measured distance area to the distance measurement frame of a finder and pseudo zoom magnification. When a photographic lens is switched from a wide-angle position to a telephoto position, a teleconverter is inserted into an AF optical system so as to make the ratio of the distance measurement range to the photographic range constant. For pseudo zoom photography, trimming magnification is increased gradually and then while a distance measurement area does not vary, the ratio of the distance measurement area to the distance measurement frame of the finder increases. For the purpose, beta is so set that the ratio of the distance measurement area to the distance measurement frame does not increase above a certain constant value; and beta is used as a border point and the distance measurement area is varied. |
