Copolyesters from 4,4'-biphenyldicarboxylic acid, 1,6-hexanediol and ethylene glycol

Disclosed are copolyesters comprising an acid component of 4,4'-biphenyldicarboxylic acid and a glycol component comprising 1,6-hexanediol and ethylene glycol. Injection-molded bars of the coplyesters exhibit unusually high stiffness and tensile strength compared to polyesters described in the art.
