PURPOSE:To perform bidirectional transmission at least among three points with one optical amplifier by connecting all the stations except for one station out of N stations to one terminal side of the optical amplifier, and connecting (N-1) stations except for an excluded one station and arbitrary one station out of the stations other than that to the other terminal side. CONSTITUTION:The device is comprised in such a way that optical transmission lines at stations A, C, and D sides are connected by coupling to the one terminal side of the optical amplifier 3, and the optical transmission lines at stations B, C, and D sides, etc., are connected by coupling to the other terminal side of the optical amplifier 3. And a light transmission part and a light reception part are connected to the tip of respective optical transmission line, and each light transmission part transmits light signals with different light frequencies, and each light reception part is provided with a function to receive the light frequency by tuning selectively. Thereby, it is possible to realize the bidirectional transmission between the stations A and D, B and D, C and D, A and B, A and C, and R and C. The bidirectional transmission among five or more stations is realized by increasing the number of branch such as to increase ternary branching units 61, 62 to quaternary branching unit, a pentanary branching unit etc. |
