发明名称 OPTICAL FIBER
摘要 PURPOSE:To allow the free change of the shape of the optical fiber although the fiber is made of plastic by constituting both of a core material and a clad material of a high-polymer materials having a specific glass transition temp. and a three-dimensional crosslinked structure. CONSTITUTION:Both of the core material and the clad material are constituted of the high-polymer material having 40 to 80 deg.C glass transition temp. (Tg) and the three-dimensional crosslinked structure. Namely, these materials have the crosslinked structure and, therefore, the heat resistance thereof is good as compared with the plastic optical fibers. This fiber is resilient and highly flexible at the temp. above the Tg. Since the fiber is in a glassy state at room temp. (the temp. below the Tg) or below and, therefore, the shape of the fiber is maintained by previously deforming the fiber to a desired shape at the temp. above the Tg and cooling the fiber down to room temp. in this state. Thus, the bending of the fiber to various shapes and the maintaining of the shape are possible.
