A sound-rigging apparatus comprises primary (1) and secondary (2) means of supply, a programmable control clock (4) for controlling the operation of a means (6) for reading a carrier of sound recordings which is linked to at least one loudspeaker (7), and a relay (3) supplied by the primary means of supply for controlling the opening and closing of several secondary switches (10, 13, 16, 18) so as to allow the permanent supplying of the clock and the linking of the clock to a main switch (5) when the primary means of supply is operating. Application: broadcasting of background sound or messages ranging from advertising to information of any kind in a location frequented by crowds. <IMAGE>
