The device comprises: - an oscillating (resonant) circuit (CO) capable of interacting electromagnetically with the said body, - control means (MCO) capable of supplying the oscillating circuit with an input current (Ie) of frequency substantially equal to the resonant frequency of the said circuit, whilst keeping this circuit close to its oscillation condition, and capable of delivering a first output signal (S1) representative of the variations in the voltage level at the terminals of the oscillating circuit, and - means for processing this first output signal in order to deduce therefrom information relating to the presence of the said body. <IMAGE>
