The invention relates to the device making it possible to brake a trailer without a drop in hydraulic pressure. It consists of a thrust cylinder (1) enclosing a return spring (1B) and a piston (1A) which, under the pressure arriving in the circuit (11) through the valve (8) pulls the piston (2A) via the port (1C), which piston compresses the spring (2B) of the thrust cylinder (2), the latter supplied during the action, by the circuit (11). The solenoid valves (3) which are connected electrically, allow oil to pass into the thrust cylinders (1) (2) (7). Once the electric circuit (12) has been cut, the solenoid valves (3) close, (4) opens, releasing oil under pressure from the thrust cylinder (2) which cannot return to the circuit (11), closed by the non-return valve (5); therefore the liquid passes through the pressure regulator (6) and arrives at the thrust cylinders (7). In order to release the brakes without reconnecting the electric circuit (12) and hydraulic circuit (11), it is sufficient to act on the mechanical tensioner (10). <IMAGE>
