PURPOSE:To connect both a flat stripe and a wavy stripe each other easily and efficiently and surely by cutting the layered parts of both stripes at the summits of the waveform of the wavy stripe where both stripes touch each other and connecting both stripes using the connecting means of the cut parts obtained by cutting. CONSTITUTION:Flat stripes 11 and wavy stripes 12 of thin metal sheets are mutually laminated while touching each other and the laminated bodies are mutually layered to form a honeycomb body. Cut out parts (b) are formed by cutting out the laminated parts of both stripes 11, 12 at the summits of the waveform of the stripes 12 where both stripes 11, 12 touches each other and using the cut out parts (b) as connecting means (a), both stripes 11, 12 are connected. As a result, the stripes 11, 12 which compose a honeycomb body are connected each other easily, efficiently, and surely, and thus a catalystic converter using the obtained honeycomb body can keep durable discharged gas purifying function. |
