Below the support structure inside a sterilisation cabinet (1) non-pressurised and with a readily opened door (3), is a receptacle, e.g., an open dish, for a sterilising medium, esp. peracetic acid, which is vapourised by the heat from an adjacent lower temp. source (4). Air entering the cabinet from a base pipe (14) and charged with the sterilising vapour, leaves the cabinet top via a hose (6) under natural draught, or the suction applied by an external blower (13) incorporated in a continuous circulation path for the sterilising air. Vapourisation rate is controlled by the incoming air speed and supplies of sterilising medium can be continuously maintained. An electrical bulb, hot water or small electrical resistance is sufficient to maintain the necessary vapourisation temp. at about 40 deg.C. ADVANTAGE - Steriliser, from which any gases discharged are environmentally harmless, forms part of a continuous ventilation system. |
