摘要 In a system for determining the quality of waste waters, a number of characteristics and/or constituents are measured continuously and in a non-invasive manner, predetermined limiting values are fed into a programmable storage unit, and an output device compares the measured values with the limiting values and produces an output signal or control quantity. The storage unit and output device may take the form of a computer and the pH value and conductivity of the water are selected as the characteristics to be measured. The redox potential, the turbidity and the oil content may also be selected as characteristics to be measured. Non-invasive optical methods of measurement are used. A separate probe (7) is used for each measurements to be made and these are installed in the inlet (1) to a rain-water tank, a fire-water collecting tank or a buffer tank. These probes (7) are of a self-cleaning type. Where possible, optical probes are used which are above the water surface and do not interfere with the water flow. When the water quality reaches a point where it can no longer be discharged directly into the drainage channel (KA), it is automatically diverted via a pipe (2) into a tank (3). In this tank, the water is sedimented or treated chemically in three separate chambers and when it reaches the required quality, as determined by the probes (M), it is discharged via a pipe (5) to the drainage channel (KA). USE/ADVANTAGE - Used in the monitoring of the quality of waste waters so as to produce a control signal which will operate a pump, a multi-way valve etc. when one of the measured values reaches a predetermined limit.
