PURPOSE:To obtain the subject foam useful as a heat-insulating material for in air-conditioner, a bath mat, etc., by molding a mixture of a polyolefin-based synthetic resin, a foaming agent, an organic peroxide, a fungicide and a spherical synthetic resin and heating the molded material under the ordinary pressure for crosslinking and foaming thereof. CONSTITUTION:A mixture obtained by blending 100 pts.wt. polyolefin-based synthetic resin (e.g. PE, PP or polybutene-1) with 3-30 pts.wt. foaming agent (e.g. azodicarbonamide), 0.3-5.0 pts. wt. organic peroxide (e.g. dicumyl peroxide), 0.05-5.0 pts.wt. fungicide [preferably 2-(4'-thiazolyl)benzoimidazole, etc.] and 0.05-5.0 pts.wt. spherical synthetic resin (e.g. crosslinked PS beads preferably having 1-20mum average particle size) is molded and then heated under the ordinary pressure at >= decomposition temperatures of the above-mentioned organic peroxide and foaming agent for crosslinking and foaming thereof, thus obtaining the objective foam. |
