The jointed and overlapping structure of heat-insulating plates incorporates an overlapping shoulder (11) on one plate engaging under a covering strip (12) on the adjacent one. The top surface of the shoulder towards the strip is corrugated, both crests and troughs running in the lengthwise direction, and there are mating corrugations on the underside of the strip, of the same wavelength and amplitude.
