The transparent plate, esp. for the rear window of a cabriolet car, consists of a thermoplastic with an embedded heater mesh of numerous parallel heater fibres which have supporting fibres uniformly spaced over their length, and current end connections. At least one part of the support fibre arrangement is electrically and thermally conducting, and is in contact with the heating fibres at the cross-over points. The fibres pref. have a polyvinyl acetate anti-reflection coating. ADVANTAGE - The arrangement is efficient and reliable.
