PURPOSE: To simplify the manufacturing and assembling of a cage by forming axially outward-pointing projections on a cage segments having the pockets to hold the rolling elements, and forming the openings to hold the connecting elements on the projections. CONSTITUTION: The rolling elements 2 are fitted in the cage segments 1a-1d in such manner that they are connected to one another by the cage rings 3, 4. The axially outward-pointing projections 7, 8 are formed at both sides of the cage segments 1a-1d, and these projections 7, 8 comprise the openings 9 to hold the cage rings 3, 4 at both end face sides thereof. When a cage is to be assembled, the cage segments 1a-1d are fitted to the rolling elements 2 and then the cage rings 3, 4 are fitted to the openings 9 of the projections 7, 8 like a snap. The cage segments 1a, 1b are axially alternately directed in the opposite directions, so that the projection 7, or 8 of one of the cage segment 1a and the projection 8 or 7 of the adjacent cage segment are alternately connected by the cage ring 3 or 4 of one side. |
